From the owner

Come and enjoy North Cyprus in our 3 bedroom semi-detached detached villa. The villa has its own private swimming pool, air conditioning (in all bedrooms), WiFi so that you can keep up to date with family and friends, family bathroom and cloakroom. It also has marbled floors to help keep cool during the summer months.

The downstairs consists of a hallway leading to an open plan living and dining area, kitchen and cloakroom.

The living/dining area has two armchairs, a two and a three seater sofa, a TV and dvd player. There is a dining table and 6 chairs, a water dispenser, plus electric fans for those hot summer days. The kitchen is fully fitted with cutlery, crockery, utensils, electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, american style fridge freezer, washing machine, iron and ironing board.The cloakroom contains a hand basin and wc. The upstairs has three bedrooms and a family bathroom. Two bedrooms have double beds and one has two single beds. All bedrooms have air condioning, fitted wardrobes, bedside cabinets and a balcony. We also have a travel cot should one be required. The large bathroom has a hand basin, wc, bath and a separate shower cubicle. The exterior has its own swimming pool, extensive patio area with patio furniture and bbq. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the villa. Please also note that the villa is not currently on mains water supply and water is held in two tanks at the side of the villa and delivered via water tanker.

Dear guest Thank you for taking the time to write your review and we must thank you for trying to keep it short. We will try to do the same with our response. What you neglect to mention in your review is that you were desperately trying to get a week's worth of your holiday refunded. This was refused as you stayed for the whole 20 days, hence this outrageous review. I must say that if our villa was the most unkempt, dirty, unmaintained property and the worst you had ever stayed in, then why on earth did you stay for 20 days? You could have moved out and got a full refund. Our property has had at least 20 guests in the past 2 years, none of which have complained about the maintenance, drains or cleanliness. The property manager and the cleaner are the same person! I doubt very much they would be saying such things to jeopardise their own position. I would like to mention that there were 8 guests in our property who left the day you arrived. We had received no complaint from them. Also, we arrived at our villa the day after you left and found the following; The dishwasher did not smell and just needed the start button pressed (as we told you to try) to finish its cycle. So who had stopped it? The washing machine worked perfectly. You should have tried putting washing powder in it as a clothes feeling dirtier than they went in is impossible. The oven was not dirty. Clean pots and pans had been left in it by someone? The frying pan in your picture is just burnt and discoloured on the outside like many used frying pans. The swimming pool was never dirty. Staying at our property prior to your stay were 8 people. Next door were another party of 8 people and they were all on holiday together. This makes 16 people. Lots of people in a pool does not make it dirty. Look at public pools? It is cleaned by the pool man twice a week. He cleaned it the day after you arrived and you were also seen having fun in it on many occasions. Ant infestation. There were a couple there when we arrived. Did you take the rest with you in your suitcase and put jam on the door handle etc for photographic purposes? Water tanks dirty? Honestly, the tanks have lids and fresh water is all that goes in them. As for them needing to be refilled, you were aware before booking the villa that it was not on mains water and that water was delivered by water tanker. Algae in the drinking water dispenser? This is impossible as it is a sealed unit. Leaking toilet. It leaked back in to the system. No mess and it still worked. The problem was fixed as soon as we were made aware of it. Not only that, you were never left without a toilet for 24hrs as there is a down stairs WC. Mouse dropping on the sofa? Strange, I thought mice bit holes in upholstery. Perhaps they were watching TV as well? The droppings in your picture look incredibly like seeds from sticks of bread you can buy. See attached picture. Dirt in the window gullies. I will tell the cleaner/property manager to be more vigilant as this is a massive health issue for guests who my accidentally lick them. Thick dust in the cupboards. If so, we should have easily spotted the spotless one that you cleaned for your purposes. Alas we couldn't as they all looked clean. Broken sun loungers. Yes 1 had a crack in it. This is not an issue as it had a cushion on it so no danger to life. There were also 5 sun loungers and only 4 people in your party so what's the big deal. This rogue lounger has since been scrapped. Bird droppings on the patio. We cannot control nature. It is highly unlikely that the bird’s droppings were old. The birds do their business on the roof or as they’re flying past and because of the extreme heat, it dries instantly and the wind blows it off the roof onto the floor. It isn’t a big problem and to say that the broom was too dirty that you wouldn’t even use it to sweep the drive is absolutely ridiculous. You also seem a bit confused on which villa to complain about as many of the things you mentioned are actually the villa next door. You even rang the owner of that villa complaining and pretending to be his guests. We know this as your mobile number was on his phone. In all this guest has caused us nothing but a lot of stress and despair. I would strongly recommend that any other property owners think long and hard before allowing them to stay in their property.

How do damage deposits work?
