Dar Alexander is a stunning and comfortable traditional riad, painstakingly restored over four years. It lies In the heart of the ancient medina of Fez, a stone’s throw away from the famous Kairaouine Mosque. Our full-time house manager, Asmae, looks after your needs and our cook prepares wonderful Moroccan feasts. It is the perfect base for a holiday with friends, a special gathering or as a peaceful refuge to explore the atmospheric Fez medina.

Dar Alexander is designed to provide a luxurious experience for both social gatherings and privacy. We provide whole house bed & breakfast, but our cook can prepare delicious Moroccan meals on request.

In the traditional riad style, a communal ground floor encompassing the central reception is the hub of the home with an open fire for the winter months. A beautiful separate salon is adjacent to the reception, where meals are usually enjoyed, and a dramatic kitchen space and a relaxation room complete the ground floor. Stairs lead to five well appointed bedrooms, designed using textiles sourced in the medina. The master suite has a large ensuite, and there are two additional large bathrooms with walk-in showers. A large rooftop with stunning views over the medina and the hills beyond provides additional communal and dining space with a separate kitchen, and is a wonderful evening hang out space during the warmer months.

Dar Alexander is available only as an exclusive let and for a minimum of 2 nights per stay. We charge a minimum of 240 Euro per night (for up to 4 persons). The charge for any additional person beyond that is 50 Euro each per night.These prices include bed and breakfast, dinner on your first evening, transfers to and from the airport/train station and all local taxes.Dinner is available by arrangement and is priced at 15/8.Euro per adult/child (payable locally).A selection of drinks is available, also payable locally.

On hot days the roof terrace can be enjoyed with the facility to cool down with an outside shower. There are beautifully scented jasmine and herb plants that adorn the terrace, which boasts a magnificent view of the medina and mountains beyond. No need to leave the terrace for refreshments as there is a small well equipped kitchen adjacent to the exterior.

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jan (the owner) a message.

    If Jan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
