The property is conveniently situated a few hundred yards down a private track with easy access to the A487. Newport Town with its many shops and facilities is a few minutes car drive or a 20 minute walk. Newport Big Beach is a 10 minute drive, the coast path is a 15 minute walk and walking on the wilds of Carningli is a big draw. Newport is a town, but small with big amenities - 3 pubs, all with restaurants, further cafes and restaurants and a wealth of small shops (grocery, butcher, whole foods, hardware, gifts, papers, art, crafts, clothing, hardressers, library, fresh fish,toy museum,bank). Boating, fishing, cycling (bike hire), kayaking, tennis courts, fantastic scenery and yet generally quiet. This is a welsh speaking area, with big hearted friendly outgoing residents. You are sure of a warm Welsh welcome here.

A priority when designing and equipping the cottage was comfort! King size bed in the double room, premium mattresses, choice of pillows and duvet weights, quality bedding. (alternative sheets and blankets available on request). Full central heating, power shower over the bath, well stocked kitchen. A home from home. Bath towels are provided. Specific requests met where possible! A welcome tray of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and maybe welsh cakes or toffee waffles greet you on arrival. If it's winter, the heating is on!

The patio is of sunny aspect and equipped with a picnic table and further patio chairs. Parking is plentiful. A (shared) shed opposite can provide storage for kayaks or bikes or a pushchair. It can be used for drying wetsuits, wet boots, whatever! There is a set of swings for the kids. At night when the skies are clear the stars and moon shine/twinkle brightly, foxes bark, owls can be heard.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    If Laura (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
