This secluded cottage is set at the end of a small track with no passing traffic in the beautiful Dordogne countryside. Take a relaxing holiday in a villa with your own private pool in this delightful part of France.

The cottage is totally private, and birds and wildlife abound in the natural woodland. The garden has a variety of trees providing plenty of shade for those hot summer afternoons. This traditional stone farmhouse has been tastefully restored to retain its original charm yet provide modern comforts and amenities, with a 10m x 5m swimming pool. Despite the restful setting, you are only 3Km from the historic village of Bourdeilles with its 11th Century Chateau, and 15km from the picturesque town of Brantôme. Relax in this beautiful setting in the rolling Dordogne countryside. Enjoy the top class food at local restaurants, canoe down the River Dronne, or visit the many interesting attractions and picturesque villages.

The house is approximately 250 years old, and has been restored and equipped to a high standard with all modern conveniences, whilst retaining a rustic country farmhouse feeling with it's old beams, exposed stone walls, wooden floors and kitchen with local quarry tiles.

Ground floor:Large sitting room, triple aspect, large fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Exposed stone with original alcoves and beamed ceiling. Large kitchen, also triple aspect with a quarry tiled floor. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a large farmhouse table.

From the dining area there are double doors to the patio and garden. There is ample garden furniture for barbecues.

The cloakroom has a washbasin, WC and a full size automatic washing machine.

First Floor: There is a wooden staircase to the first floor with three bedrooms and bathroom leading off.

The master bedroom has a double bed, and luxury en suite with large shower and WC.

Bedroom two has one double and one single bed.

Bedroom three has twin beds.

The bathroom has a washbasin, toilet and P-shaped bath/shower.

Travel cot available on request. There are large floor standing fans in two of the bedrooms to keep you cool when the temperature stays high through the night.

Facilities: Gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezing compartment, English satellite TV (free channels only), telephone, parking for about 3 cars, barbecue, garden furniture, 4 sun beds. Swimming pool - 10m x 5m, with paving and patio area around pool.

There is WiFi internet throughout the house and a large part of the garden. For technical reasons, we do not guarantee that this will be working at all times, and it does not form a contractual part of the rental.

This is an ancient property and has low doorways and low beams, which require care, especially for those who are taller than average.

There is a sunny patio to the side of the house, with a retractable sun canopy for shade when needed. The garden slopes down to attractive woods, and in the centre is the 10m x 5m swimming pool, built and maintained to a high standard. The pool is alarmed for the safety of children.

The garden is totally private, and birds and wildlife abound in the natural woodland. A variety of trees provide plenty of shade. An open sided barn to one side of the house is used to shelter the car and as a wood store, and there is ample garden furniture for barbeques or relaxing by the pool.

The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with rolling hills. and many delightful walks from the door. It is also wonderful cycling country and four mountain bikes are available for rental at £10 per week each. Suitable teenage to adult.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
