Carr's Cottage nestles among the rolling hills of a rural yet not remote area of Fanad, County Donegal, just four miles from Carrigart village. The property is located on a private laneway on our family farm, with stunning views of Mulroy Bay and the imposing Muckish Mountain. Carr's Cottage is only minutes drive from beaches, cafes, golf courses, fishing and breathtaking walks. A great location for exploring the wonderful Fanad and Rosguill Peninsulas.

The cottage has two comfortable bedrooms sleeping 7 people (3 Double, 1 Single Bed). The cosy living room with a cute oil fired stove, has a tv and stunning views of the Donegal countryside and Mulroy Bay. The kitchen has all mod cons including a dishwasher. There is oil fired central heating to keep you cosy during your stay.

Amenities are plentiful in the peninsula - from surfing to kayaking, beach-combing to pitch'n'putt from beautiful Atlantic drives to breath-taking hillwalking, Fanad has something for everyone. Some of the best golfing in the world is a few minutes' drive away at Portsalon or Rosapenna Golf Links.

Take a trip to the picturesque seaside villages of Carrigart and Downings, just 4 miles across the newly erected Harry Blaney Mulroy Bridge. Or visit Portsalons Blue Flag beach, voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Feel free to explore the rolling hills of the farm around the property and stop to chat to the horses who are super friendly. (Please not that because it remains a working farm, we cannot accommodate pets, including dogs, at Carrs Cottage).

lovely quiet private cosy.

This was a lovely location for some peace and quiet with access by car to numerous beaches and places of interest. Cottage was basic but very cosy and nice and warm. Had everything needed.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Kathleen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
